Being a mom means more than having given birth to a child.

Being a mom means more than having given birth to a child. It's loving and knowing a soul before you even see it. It's carrying and caring for a life completely dependant on you for survival. It's giving air to the lungs that grew within you, and sight to the eyes that will never see you as anything but mommy. It's sleepless nights, its nursing scratches and scrapes, it's being stern and protective. It's teaching them to talk, to walk and to eventually run. It's learning to hand your child to a stranger to let them teach what you cannot at times. It's bracing them for a fall, and dusting them off after they do. It's seeing them cry and not knowing how to fix it, so you sit on the floor and hold them and cry right along beside them. It's teaching them that they are smart, capable, funny and giving them the security to do great things. It's building their self-esteem, supporting their dreams and loving them unconditionally. It's letting them go, letting them fail and teaching them how to get back up. It's going without so that they don't have to, and being OK with it.

There’s nothing quite as special as the unique and unbreakable relationship between a mother and her daughter. Mothers want what’s best for their children and they look up to their mothers for inspiration and advice. The relationship may shift and change as time goes on but one thing always remains the same: the unconditional love that they have for each other.
Mothers and children serve as constant inspiration for each other. Many mothers encourage their child to pursue their dreams, and feel empowered to follow those dreams because they were raised by a strong and supportive mom.

A baby is something you carry inside you for nine months, in your arms for three years, and in your heart until the day you die.
Pregnancy is never easy. Moms-to-be will experience a lot of changes physically, mentally, and emotionally with some journeys being tougher than others. Even so, many women who go through pregnancy find it magical.
Loving a baby is a circular business, a kind of feedback loop. The more you give the more you get and the more you get the more you feel like giving.
Carrying a baby for nine months can be hard but once you see your baby’s face for the very first time, you won’t think of anything else but giving them all of your love.

You can learn many things from children. How much patience you have, for instance.
It’s no secret that babies will be a handful. Even with a meticulously planned calendar, having a child will change all that. Even more so when they grow up! Having children will help you become more patient and loving.
Giving birth and being born brings us into the essence of creation, where the human spirit is courageous and bold and the body, a miracle of wisdom.

The moment a child is born, the mother is also born. She never existed before. The woman existed, but the mother, never. A mother is something absolutely new. and so in you the child your mother lives on and through your family continues to live.

That first pregnancy is a long sea journey to a country where you don’t know the language, where land is in sight for such a long time that after a while it’s just the horizon – and then one day birds wheel over that dark shape and it’s suddenly close, and all you can do is hope like hell that you’ve had the right shots.
A baby will make love stronger, days shorter, nights longer, bankroll smaller, home happier, clothes shabbier, the past forgotten and the future worth living for.
